East New York\u2019s notorious open-air sex market has seen an explosion of scantily-clad prostitutes in the area near Pennsylvania Avenue, prompting a local pol to plead for cops to crack down as parents are forced to shield their children\u2019s eyes and residents wake up to used condoms scattered across their condo parking lots.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need the same attention the police department is\u00a0paying to Roosevelt Avenue<\/a>, to bring it out to East New York . . . to help address the issue,\u201d City Councilman Chris Banks told The Post.<\/p>\n

East New York\u2019s notorious open-air sex market, known as the Penn Track, has seen an explosion of scantily-clad prostitutes in recent years.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Post encountered nearly a dozen skimpily-dressed hookers Wednesday night, standing beside parked city Sanitation and semi-trailer trucks along Georgia and Malta Avenues, bringing sleazy drivers to a stop and even jamming up traffic as they chatted up potential johns.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019d like to hang out?\u201d one prostitute, who wore black platform boots and a tiny skirt exposing most of her derriere, asked a Post reporter.<\/p>\n

After offering sex for $120 or oral for $85, she advised, \u201cI know a spot we can go,\u201d before being turned down.<\/p>\n

Another woman on the block promised a good time in the backseat of the scribe\u2019s Chevy Malibu for $140.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou don\u2019t have tinted windows? We\u2019re going to have to fishbowl it,\u201d cooed the sex worker, who wore thigh-high boots along with a red-and-black leather jacket.<\/p>\n

Longtime locals bemoaned brazen prostitutes hawking sex in broad daylight, less than four blocks from PS 306.<\/p>\n

Several prostitutes propositioned a reporter along Georgia Avenue between Flatlands Avenue and Linden Boulevard.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

\u201cHad there been an early response to this, it would\u2019ve brought the activity down, [but] it\u2019s been allowed to fester over the last couple years,\u201d said a frustrated Banks, who supported the recently passed\u00a0hotel licensing bill<\/a>\u00a0aimed at cracking down on \u201cbad actors\u201d profiting off the illicit sex trade.<\/p>\n

Through Oct. 27, police have made 18 prostitution-related arrests along the Penn Track, including 12 for patronizing prostitutes, compared to 19 during the same period in 2023, with 16 johns being busted. During this time period in 2022, just four arrests were made in the area, all for prostitution.<\/p>\n

Migrant women<\/a>\u00a0staying in nearby shelters are believed to be fueling the prostitution surge at Penn Track, historically the domain of young black sex workers, Banks and a women\u2019s advocate said.<\/p>\n

Parents have complained about having to shield their kids eyes while bringing their children to school near the Penn Track.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The prostitutes are being extorted by pimps, the advocate explained \u2014 some of whom have been busted for allegedly\u00a0forcing girls as young as 16<\/a>\u00a0to work the streets and\u00a0gunning down rivals<\/a>\u00a0in flesh-peddling turf wars.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s all pimp controlled,\u201d said the advocate, who requested anonymity. \u201cYou can\u2019t work independently there.\u201d<\/p>\n

City Hall and the NYPD have made \u201ca lot of verbal commitments\u201d to provide additional resources for tackling the prostitution in his district, but \u201cwe haven\u2019t seen the boots on the ground,\u201d Banks said.<\/p>\n
