Lats said in an Instagram post on Wednesday that he had lost his chance to win a gold medal because of a \u201cMisjudgment\u201d by the referee, the independent and the Guardian reported, to the International Shooting Sport Federation who regulate the sport of shooting.<\/p>\n

Lats appealed after the referee ruled that Lats had missed the target in his final shot on Thursday, but the referee did not change his decision, the independent reported.<\/p>\n

Lats said in an Instagram post Thursday that she lost her chance to win an Olympic gold medal because of a \u201cWrong decision\u201d by three judges. \u201cAfter sitting down and reading so many of your comments and the clear photographic evidence that I hit the target, I feel that not only myself, but the entire shooting community should pay attention and address this issue,\u201d Lats said, every athlete should play on a fair field.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do think there is some responsibility [ for the parties ] to acknowledge the error and apologise, and there is a need for a plan to prevent something like this in the future,\u201d Lats said.<\/p>\n

The British delegation to the Paris Games won 65 medals, including 14 gold, 22 silver and 29 bronze, the BBC and other media reported. Chilean Crovetto Chatid won the women’s skeet shooting final at the Paris Olympics on August 4, while Lats and Smith of the United States took second and third places respectively.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
